don't
know if this will work for you or not? that's why
we call it our BETA TESTER! 16" reacher with high
grip, low mar coating, light spring release for easy manipulation.
what
is a dwarf beta tester?

in
the spring of '96 when we had cause to buy a new washing
machine, we found the tub was as deep as the Grand Canyon.
wanting to retrieve the clothes from the VERY bottom that
had been washed seven times over, cause we couldn't reach
them, note: the inventor is a achondroplasia dwarf, we started
to think how
we might get them out. we had heard stories of others
using salad scissors, but our "lettuce leaves" seemed to
be farther away than that from our reach. so searching every
possible source we ran across for the next 2 weeks, we fell
upon a 16" pair of spring loaded industrial strength stainless
steel tongs that had potential. we coated the ends with
latex to prevent our snagging her delicate unmentionables
yet still able to grip the weight of her wet body hugging
jeans since she never likes doing laundry but she can reach
to the bottom of the washer without them!
wella,
we had our first DWARF BETA TESTERT!
we
figured if it worked for us, others might find it useful
/ beneficial. so, using the internet, and taking our lead
from the computer software industry, we named them DWARF
BETA TESTERS and offered them at no charge to the first
6-7 takers to test. after our "dwarf beta testers" had had
them for a while, we asked for their comments. the reviews
were great and about 9 months later, a fair gestation period
for an item of this caliber, we asked for follow-up comments.
as many have seen, they still rant about the DWARF BETA
TESTER! they sold well at the indianapolis conference, sold
out at the atlanta and los angeles conferences and now we're
moving on and exploring other disabled/handicapped populations
that are "reach challenged!"
many
of the folks have told of other uses they have found for
the DWARF BETA TESTERT. from fetching ketchup off the top
shelf of the grocery store (cause the little old lady that
could help you won't be down to your end of the aisle until
next month and by then her osteoporosis will make her shorter
than you), grabbing that 1961 bottle of Moss Point Port
Wine for a romantic evening by the fire, picking up stuff
off the floor as a "chair bound" user or just being able
to extend your reach another 12-16"!
